I love Zoup! and miss them in Dayton so we were excited to find this one. I love that they let you try all the soups before you order. And their variety is wonderful and always changing. I do think it's a bit on the pricey side for the amount of soup you get, hence the 4 stars.

Okay so this is confusing. This is the first time a "vibe" has ever affected my review of a place, which in fairness is also tied to the general disposition of the staff who work there, coupled with my experience.
Let's get this out of the way first: the food is amazing. The soups are all tasty, and the ability to sample them like experimenting with different flavors of ice cream is entertaining, useful, and fun. All of the soups are delectable and heartening, and I would very much recommend them on a rainy day or when you're under the weather. Furthermore, all hail the elegant return of the infamous bread bowl, with of all of it's ham-fisted simplicity I embrace without a hint of ironic shame.
What struck me is odd, and this may be becasue we came at an odd hour, but all of the employees seems disengaged and not-at-all enthused to be there. Hey, I get it. I do. No one wants to be at work, and service industry work is *hard* work. You deal with shitty people and you work crazy hours. But the general malaise peeling off of them gave the entire place sort of an strange ethereal pall that brought down the mood.
Everyone there - even the diners, looked subdued and tired, as if they were feeding off of the general fog of apathy. I felt like I was an extra in a scene of a movie where something was going to go down. I only mention this because: 1) it's relevant, and 2) other people have also noticed several idiosyncratic elements of the employee behavior at this location.
They do good work don't get me wrong! I got my food accurately, quickly, and it tasted great. The person working cashier was respectful and pleasant despite looking a bit fatigued, but the guy who came in to work the sandwiches, whew, the expression on his face. He wasn't happy. Hey Zoup!, pay your folks a bit more maybe, I dunno what the deal is. Maybe they had a long day.
Like I said, I don't want to point fingers or judge, it just felt off. But last I checked "Service with a Disinterested Sigh of Ennui" doesn't really blend well with consumer experience.
Overall I'm eager to revisit during more conventional hours to see if I can get a firmer shake of the place, but overall for the price I think it's a decent place if you're looking for something warm and inviting to eat when on a time budget. -

Zoup is a reliable choice for a healthy, quick meal. I always order either the Asian or the Cobb salad (or in Zoup-lingo, "Greenz!") and customize it by adding my own combination of toppings. There are at least a dozen optional toppings available, so there should be something for everyone. You can also choose from a variety of salad dressings; I recommend trying the sesame dressing. The salads are decently filling, especially because they come with a good-sized piece of bread on the side.
Zoup's online ordering system is one of my favorite aspects about eating here. The system is very easy to use and the order is usually ready for pickup within ~15mins. However, one issue with this location is they often mess up my online order in some form or another. They've missed at least one topping on my salad several times, and they even forgot to include the bread once! That being said, I've always been treated well when I brought up the incorrect order with the store. -

I like this place a lot for work lunches - it's pretty fast, has a good selection, and so far everything I've tried has been really good. Think Panera, but with a better soup selection.
My issue with this location is that they always seem frazzled. And rushed. And they're not particularly quiet about it, so if I order in line and then wait for takeout, their nervous frazzlement rubs off on me. I get twitchy just standing there, trying not to tell them to breathe and maybe work on how they split up tasks.
tl;dr good place for lunch, but maybe order online so you can pick up your food and run. -

Very good. Nice variety of soup, salad and sandwiches. The lobster bisque was great. Service was friendly. Would definitely recommend.
